Rct - Ward Support Volunteer - York - Elderly and Dementia (Ward Support Volunteer - Elderly and Dementia Wards - York)
A Ward Support Volunteer assists patients at mealtimes to help serving meals and drinks, and provide companionship which might include activities such as reading or engaging in conversation. This helps to reduce loneliness, supports meaningful activities, and creates a calmer environment for patients.
We are looking for Ward Support Volunteers who can commit to a weekly session of 2-4 hours. The role will be specifically supporting patients on the Dementia and Elderly Care Wards and **applicants **must be over 18 years old for this role. If you have experience or a keenness to support patients with dementia we would love to hear from you.
Applicants who are successful at the interview stage of the process, will be required to provide proof of identity as outlined in the application form, along with a successful Disclosure and Barring Service check, Occupational Health check, an acceptable reference and complete mandatory online training modules.
Informal interviews will take place on 10th July and 15th July at York Hospital.
