Ward Support Volunteer - York variety of wards

A Ward Support Volunteer is to assist patients at mealtimes to help with eating and drinking and provide companionship which might include activities such as reading or engaging in conversation.

We are looking for Ward Support Volunteers who can commit to a weekly session of 2-4 hours. There are a variety of roles available, including on the Dementia Ward, Chemotherapy Unit, Emergency Department, Orthopaedic and Surgical Wards.

Applicants who are successful at the interview stage of the process, will be required to provide proof of identity as outlined in the application form, along with a successful Disclosure and Barring Service check, Occupational Health check, an acceptable reference and complete mandatory online training modules.
